Artistic Journey

Early Years
Art has always been a significant part of Chuck's life. Although he never considered himself an "artist," he excelled in art classes and regularly drew at home. Growing up in a small town limited his access to various art mediums and techniques, prompting him to try drafting. One class revealed that drafting wasn't for him, and he instead focused on his imaginative designs.

Education and Early Career
After high school, Chuck attended Mendocino Community College, where he pursued business classes with the goal of becoming self-employed. During this period, his interest in tattoos grew as he began getting tattooed with his own art designs and learning from local artist Mark Phillips. After two semesters, Chuck left college and moved to Colfax to refocus his life. Immersing himself in tattoo magazines and deepening his commitment to his art, Chuck took this time to perfect his skills and passion for tattooing.

The Breakthrough
Chuck's breakthrough came when his grandmother asked him to design her first tattoo. During the appointment, the shop's owner invited him to apprentice under Tanner Richardson. Chuck learned a lot about realism and oil painting despite the challenging environment. His exposure to the possibilities of tattoo art grew through attending conventions and winning art fusion contests.

Professional Milestones

Black Saints Tattoo & Monkey Wrench Tattoo
Seeking to continue his growth, Chuck joined Black Saints Tattoo, a sister shop to Monkey Wrench Tattoo in Santa Rosa, which was then owned by Joe Leonard.

Full Spectrum Tattoo
Later, he moved to Full Spectrum Tattoo in Rocklin, working with new shop owner Mario Davis. Here, Chuck dedicated more time to art, participating in local art shows and further refining his skills.

Fallen Angel Tattoo
Joining Fallen Angel Tattoo in Sacramento, owned by Tom Cooney, marked a pivotal moment in his career. This opportunity enabled Chuck to expand his clientele, attend conventions regularly, and win numerous awards. His career thrived, and he was later accepted into the Geeksterink Legends, where he now tattoos at various comic book-based conventions.

Roseville Tattoo Co
Chuck's current home base is Roseville Tattoo Co, where he continues to create award-winning art, offers custom designs, and participates in conventions, tattoo expos, art shows, and guest spots nationwide.
